Liz's Pick:

This is an absolutely lovely epistolary novel written from the perspective of a Presbyterian minister who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and so sets down his thoughts and reflections for his young son to have something with which to remember him.

Told in a lovely prose, this book cracks open the world like a coconut and sucks from it every last bit of beauty afforded to the protagonist. It is the most pleasant novel I have ever read, but it is creatively followed up by Home, Lila, and Jack, with other points of view demonstrating the slipperiness of our own self-narration.
